As a child, I remember my dad would get home from working on the pipeline and immediately lay down on the floor in the living room. The hard surface helped relieve his chronic back pain. Often, I would run to the bathroom and get the tube of Ben-Gay or Icy Hot muscle rub and massage it into his skin. I hated seeing him in pain. My life experiences helped me develop a keen intuition for physical and emotional empathy at an early age.
Later in life, this led me to the decision to become a licensed massage therapist in July 2003, shortly before our only daughter was born two months later. Yes, massage school was interesting to experience while pregnant. LOL
I’ve been mostly self-employed since I started my practice in November of 2003. Over the last couple of decades, I’ve helped hundreds of clients manage pain and reconnect with their bodies. Whether it’s gaining a newfound awareness of their own energy, developing at-home self-care regimens, incorporating functional conditioning movements and stretching or all of the above – massage therapy is just where it begins.
It has been some of my deepest work with clients that led me to go on to get certifications in life coaching and better understand the impact of our thoughts on our physical vessels. I can sometimes FEEL clients’ thoughts while they are on my table so there’s no denying the relativity between the two when it comes to WHOLE-istic health and wellbeing.
While I no longer accept new massage therapy clients, I do still practice very part-time and occasionally fill from a cancelation list so if you have seen me before and would like to be added to the call list, click here.
